Introduction. Contemporary project-based work environments impose specific cognitive and communicative demands on professionals. This study investigates the interplay between thinking styles and business communication patterns among early-career project specialists, addressing critical subjective and objective factors influencing project outcomes.
Materials and Methods. The empirical study employed two psychodiagnostic techniques: (1) Fetiskin’s Professional Communication Orientation Inventory to assess dominant communication styles, and (2) Definition of Types of Thinking and the Level of Creativity (J. Bruner) to determine the prevailing type of thinking. Results. The study examined the relationship between thinking styles and business communication patterns among project professionals. Analysis revealed that imaginative and objective thinking styles predominated among participants, while symbolic and iconic thinking styles were less frequently observed, though all measured thinking styles demonstrated moderate to strong expression. Regarding communication preferences, a people-oriented approach emerged as the dominant business communication style. Furthermore, several meaningful connections between cognitive and communicative patterns were identified: symbolic thinking showed correspondence with action-oriented communication, while objective thinking correlated with both perspective-oriented and process-oriented communication approaches. Conclusions. Research findings can be applied in educational or professional settings to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of early-career project professionals.
